BTS with Hike: Camp Red Kite

Video production is our passion. In this blog series, we highlight some of our favorite projects and what made them so special.

We really love what we do, but every once in a while we get to jump into a project that really makes us smile.  Our collaboration with the Chicago Children's Theater's Camp Red Kite was just that.  

Tailored specifically to the unique interests and needs of young people on the autism spectrum, Camp Red Kite is a summer arts camp that immerses students in drama, art, music, and movement courses.  

We loved interviewing the teaching artists and parents, but the best part of the process was actually attending camp. We went to camp weekly, getting to know the students and integrating into the classrooms. And every week we saw change – a student not wanting to dance on the first day was now leaping across the floor; another, shy to sing, was eager to make up her own song on the last day.  It was incredible to see the positive impact that this program, its teachers, and the various art mediums had on the students.  And we were so honored to tell its story.
